A selection of eighteen works compiled by contemporary Argentine artists and film and video specialists Pablo Marín and Andrés Denegri. One of the DVDs exhibits nine films created by authors whose works were shot and presented on super 8mm and 16mm film. The other DVD contains nine videos created by authors whose works were produced with a range of mediums (film, and/or other electronic forms) and presented on video. The Box set includes a 230 page bilingual book that presents essays written by the curators, comprehensive biographical information about the artists and additional content related to Argentine experimental film and video.

About the Curators

Pablo Marín was born in 1982 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In addition to teaching (Universidad del Cine, Buenos Aires; Centro de Investigación y Enseñanza en Cine y Video (CYEVIC), Buenos Aires) and writing on film (La región central, Kilómetro 111), he is a film and video curator and filmmaker. His films have been premiered at several festivals (International Experimental Cinema Exposition (TIE), Denver), and shown at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, London Film Festival, Austrian Film Museum, Anthology Film Archives (New York City), Starting from Scratch (Netherlands), Millennium Film Workshop (New York City), Pleasure Dome (Canada), Malba (Argentina), Avanto Festival (Finland), no.w.here (England), Pacific Film Archive (Berkeley), among others. In 2009 he was invited as a visiting artist at the Contemporary Art Foundation (Fundación de Arte Contemporáneo (FAC)) in Montevideo, Uruguay, and as a filmmaker and lecturer at the exhibit Displacement: Cinema out of site at the Gallery of Contemporary Art, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. 

Andrés Denegri was born in 1975 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is an independent film, television and video producer whose work is strongly marked by visual and narrative experimentation. He is a graduate of the University of Cinema (Universidad del Cine) in Buenos Aires, where he currently teaches. He also teaches in the Department of Electronic Arts (Carrera de Artes Electrónicas) at the Universidad Nacional Tres de Febrero, Buenos Aires, where he is the founder and director of CONTINENTE, a center for research and development of audiovisual art projects, and where he is the curator of the exhibits, publications and programs related to the experimental film and video- art galleries. His work has been shown at numerous international exhibits and festivals, and he has received important awards, including the Golden Impakt Award (Holland, 2005); the Juan Downey Award (Premio Juan Downey) (Chile, 2007); Gran Premio MAMbA/ Fundación Telefónica (2009). His texts have been published in diverse specialized publications. He has been an artist in residence at the Wexner Center for the Arts (Ohio, 2005), the Counseil des Arts et des Lettres du Quebec (Quebec, 2003), and at Ya TV América (Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, 2001).
