Hernán Khourian was born in 1972 in La Plata. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at Universidad Nacional de La Plata with a degree in Visual Communication, and continued his studies in Spain, where he received his Master of Arts in Documental de Creación at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). His work has received support from the Fundación Antorchas (Argentina) and the Jan Vrijman Fund (The Netherlands). One of his most important awards was the First Prize in Electronic Arts from the Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales (Buenos Aires, 2000). In 2006, he was the recipient of a scholarship from the French Embassy in Argentina and participated in an Artist Residency in Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris). Eduardo Russo is a critic, university professor and researcher of film and audiovisual arts. He has a doctorate in Social Psychology and is the director of the PhD program in the Arts in the Department of Fine Arts at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata. Russo teaches courses on Audiovisual Theory, Analysis and Criticism and New Media at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Argentina and elsewhere in Latin America. Russo is a juror and curator for international films festivals. He is the author of Diccionario de Cine (Paidós, 1998) and El cine clásico: itinerario, variaciones y replanteos de una idea (Manantial, 2008), and he is the editor of Interrogaciones sobre Hitchcock (Simurg, 2001), Cine Ojo: un punto de vista en el territorio de lo real (2007), Hacer Cine: Producción Audiovisual en América Latina (Paidós, 2008) and The Film Edge: Contemporary Filmmaking in Latin America (2010).
